C.Ro wants Moore football at Molesey

Chris Roberts is waiting for Molesey Manager, Gerry Moore, to decide on whether to keep the 11 year old striker at the Wilderness.

Roberts has felt shunned by Moore over the past few weeks and has been left in the lurk over his Molesey future.

Roberts was instrumental in Molesey's 2nd place finish in the 2007/08 season, scoring 18 goals; and he managed 7 goals in just 12 games last season.

Also known as C.Ro to the fans, Roberts had to balance much of the 2008/09 season with a St.George's hockey, rugby and cricket career. Consequently, he was not able to play every weekend for Molesey.

The young English striker has been a fan favourite with the Molesey faithful for the past 2 years and one fanatic has already issued his thoughts: "I hope the gaffer signs the young lad on. He's been an inspiration to the team and he's scored some amazing goals. We love this guy."

Roberts has made it clear that he wants to sign a new contract but that it is now out of his control: "I want to play for this team, but I just feel a bit left out of their plans. I have commitments to my college but at the same time, I have a passion to play for Molesey."

The manager, Gerry Moore, however, is unsure on the matter. When questioned on Roberts, he said: "Chris has done well for us. He had a fantastic first season and we missed him a lot last year. I have got a squad of 16 and need to make a decision on who stays and who goes in the next few days."

It is certain that young Roberts will be snapped up by another club if Moore chooses to put him in the transfer window this summer. There has been interest from Walton and Hersham, Staines Town and Manchester United for the right footed striker. If Sir Alex Ferguson does manage to sign Roberts, it would be a dream come true for Roberts who is a life long United fan.
